3-Day Microschool Model | Designed for ESA-Funded Homeschool Students
The Davis Arts Collective offers a structured, performance-driven educational experience for creative students seeking meaningful arts training in a supportive community environment.
This program is specifically designed for Arizona homeschool families utilizing the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in music, theater, movement, visual arts, and creative communication while developing confidence, discipline, collaboration skills, and artistic voice. This is a part-time enrichment microschool and does not replace a family’s primary homeschool program.

Madilyn Marks brings a dynamic blend of professional performance experience and a deep commitment to arts education. Having performed in more than 40 productions since childhood and served in leadership roles across multiple after-school and youth theatre programs, she is passionate about creating a supportive, engaging environment where students build confidence, creativity, and strong collaborative skills through the performing arts.
Madilyn specializes in developing engaging, process-driven curriculum that integrates acting, voice, movement, and storytelling while nurturing each student’s unique strengths and artistic voice. Her approach emphasizes both skill development and personal growth, helping students cultivate resilience, self-expression, teamwork, and a sense of belonging.
She is especially passionate about using theatre as a powerful tool for transformation — empowering young performers to discover their potential, communicate authentically, and thrive both on stage and beyond.

DAILY PROGRAM RHYTHM
A consistent structure provides stability, focus, and developmental support for students.
9:00–9:30 AM — Arrival & Community Circle
Students begin the day with grounding activities that build focus, emotional awareness, and community connection.
• Arrival, check-in, and attendance
• Mindful breathing or movement
• Community norms and goal setting
• Daily overview
9:30–10:30 AM — Core Performance Block
The central instructional period of the day.
Focus areas include:
• Musical theater rehearsal
• Vocal technique and ensemble singing
• Scene work and acting technique
• Staging, blocking, and storytelling
• Performance skills and stage presence
This block functions as the academic core of the program.
10:30–10:45 AM — Snack & Movement Break
Structured reset time to support attention and regulation.
• Snack break

• Guided social interaction
10:45–11:45 AM — Arts Rotation
Students experience multiple artistic disciplines through applied, hands-on instruction.
Rotating subjects may include:
• Music theory and musicianship
• Dance and choreography
• Acting fundamentals
• Visual arts and design
• Set, costume, or poster creation
• Cross-disciplinary projects
11:45 AM–12:15 PM — Community Lunch
• Shared meal time
• Optional quiet activities
• Limited technology use
12:15–1:00 PM — Creative Writing & Reflection
Students develop communication skills and artistic voice through expressive work.
• Journaling
• Lyric writing
• Script development
• Character creation
• Personal reflection through art
1:00–2:00 PM — Project Lab / Ensemble Work
Collaborative rehearsal and small-group instruction.
• Sectionals and coaching
• Duets, trios, and small ensembles

2:00–2:30 PM — Closing Circle
Students conclude the day with structured reflection and transition.

These offerings are separate from the core microschool program.
ESA FUNDING
The Davis Arts Collective microschool program is designed to be compatible with the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program.
Families are responsible for managing ESA reimbursement in accordance with state guidelines.
At this time, the program accepts ESA funding only.
Independent scholarships may be considered in the future as funding becomes available.
